    On 1st January 2013 the amendments to MARPOL Annex V, prescribed in Resolution MEPC.201(62) entered into force. The revisions made substantial changes to the discharge requirements of garbage types and added new categories. The amendments require the carriage of a Garbage Record Book in a new tabulated format.
    This newly published Second Edition of the Garbage Record Book contains 60 tabulated pages in the new format, incorporating the recently changed instructions for garbage discharges under MARPOL Annex V and providing the IMO’s new ‘Simplified Overview of Discharge Provisions’.
    To meet the latest guidance for the revised MARPOL Annex V, all garbage discharges, including accidental, and incinerations must be recorded and retained on board for at least two years after the final entry is made.
    Printed on buff/cream vellum wove paper.
